Tenant, landlord, PAN, property, and monthly rent. The tool flags when PAN or a revenue stamp is needed.
The full April–March financial year, a custom range, or a single month — whatever your employer asks for.
One receipt per page, amount in words, signature line — print, sign, and submit.
Generate all twelve months of a financial year in a single PDF — no re-typing the same details for every month.
Warns you when the landlord's PAN is mandatory (rent over ₹1 lakh a year) and when a ₹1 revenue stamp applies (cash over ₹5,000).
No account, no server, no database. Your PAN and rent details are built into a document on your own device and nowhere else.
Every receipt shows the rent in figures and in words in the Indian format, exactly as employers expect.
You must report the landlord's PAN when your total rent for the financial year is more than ₹1,00,000 — roughly ₹8,333 a month (CBDT Circular 8/2013). If the landlord has no PAN, submit a signed declaration with their name and address instead. This tool warns you automatically once your rent crosses the threshold.
Only for cash payments where a single receipt is above ₹5,000. Affix a ₹1 revenue stamp and have the landlord sign across it. Rent paid by bank transfer, UPI or cheque does not need a stamp — the payment record is itself proof. The tool shows a stamp box on the receipt when cash rent crosses ₹5,000.
Most employers want one receipt per month you claim HRA, so this tool defaults to the full April–March financial year. Some accept quarterly receipts. Pick the range that matches what your payroll team asks for.
Yes, if the arrangement is genuine and your parent declares the rent as income in their return. Keep the receipts and, ideally, bank-transfer proof. The receipt format is the same.
Completely. The receipts are built entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter — names, PAN, address, amounts — is ever sent to any server. Close the tab and it's gone; saved details live only in your own browser.
No. This is a free formatting tool that produces receipts in the layout employers and the Income Tax Department expect. Always confirm current HRA rules at incometax.gov.in or with a chartered accountant.
